On Tuesday we had the privilege of welcoming back alumni from the 1940’s through to 1960’s, with one gentleman returning for the first time in 72 years! Amy Cronin, Development Manager, shared her thoughts on the day:
‘I was absolutely delighted to invite some of our key alumni back to Gayhurst to experience the school in action once again. Mr Stevenson kindly asked some Year 5 students to come and talk to our guests, and it was fascinating to witness the exchange between the generations. The older generation spoke of boarding dorms and running down the bank to watch the trains, whilst the younger generation spoke of residential school trips and F1 competitions! Mr Stevenson, an old boy himself, expertly bridged the gap between the two groups. A wonderful day, celebrating the very best of Gayhurst – our pupils.’
