For many years the school has been planning for this project, knowing that it was essential to provide the best possible facilities for our community. Our project includes several significant developments that will enhance the Gayhurst Experience.
Sports Hall
Replacing our outdated Gibbs Hall, our new sports hall will cater for our growing student body of 350 pupils. Offering significantly more space including 3 courts, it will enable us to provide a multitude of sports and physical education activities.
This modern facility providing updated changing facilities for all pupils will support our commitment to excellence in physical education and sports.
Auditorium
We have invested heavily in our site, acquiring an adjacent plot that enables us to create a 180 seat auditorium with tiered seating for an improved audience experience. This performance space is a first for our school, providing our pupils with a dedicated venue to showcase their musical and dramatic talents. This project will also provide pupils with the opportunity to learn about sound, lighting and theatre tech, meaning it is a resource for every pupil in our school.
Dance and Drama Studio
Our new dance and drama studio will provide the ideal space and equipment for our pupils to express themselves creatively and develop their skills in performing arts. We will also be installing a green screen, meaning that children will enhance their digital skills alongside the traditional dance and drama skills.
Staff Room and Foyer
In addition to these student focused facilities, the project includes a new staff room and foyer. The staff room will offer a suitable space for our dedicated staff to meet and take a well-earned break, while the foyer will create a stunning entrance to welcome guests to Gayhurst.
Whilst the finances were secured before the project started, we understand that their are people within our community that wish to be involved in this once in a generation project.
This is an unprecedented project for Gayhurst, significantly increasing the school's footprint and equipping it with incredible new facilities.
Looking ahead, we have key projects that will further enhance the offer we have at Gayhurst. Our much-loved woodland playground at the rear of the site will need to be completely replaced in the summer of 2025, we will be launching an ambitious Bursary Campaign next spring and at some point in the future we would like to look at a Wellbeing Hub and Food Tech suite. Any gifts given to the school for 'Play your Part' will go towards these projects.
We believe that this project will further help to make a Gayhurst education the very best it can be and we would like to offer our community the chance to be recognised by naming key elements of the project.
Naming rights are available for:
Sports Hall
Auditorium
Dance and Drama Studio
Staff Building
If you would like to discuss a recognition gift further, please get in touch with Amy Cronin, Development Manager - community@gayhurstschool.co.uk/01753 882690.
Our new state of the art theatre will provide our pupils with a dedicated performance space, to fully showcase their talents in music and drama, as well as serve as a versatile event space.
We invite our community to sponsor a seat for its lifetime, displaying either their family name or their child's name. We have 180 seats available for sponsorship, tiered to ensure that everyone in the community has the opportunity to get involved.
Gold tier seats - £750
Light Blue tier seats - £500
Navy Blue seats - £250
If you would like to set up a monthly payment plan, please speak to the development office - community@gayhurstschool.co.uk.
Seats within their sections will be allocated based on the date of sponsorship. Please note, we are unable to allocate 'your' seat to you at events.
